딜런의 4번째 스튜디오 앨범인 Another Side Of Bob Dylan(1964)에 실렸던 노래입니다. 전작이었던 Freewheelin' Bob Dylan(1963)이나 The Times They Are A-Changin'(1964) 보다는 좀 무게가 덜한 앨범이지만 My Back Pages, Chimes Of Freedom, 등과 함께 It Ain't Me Babe가 실려있습니다.

1964년 8월 Another Side Of Bob Dylan이 발매되기전 1964년 7월에 있었던 Newport Folk Festival에서 밥 딜런은 존 바에즈와 함께 이곡을 불렀습니다. 또 같은 해10월 30일 뉴욕의 Philharmonic Hall에서의 공연을 담은 The Bootleg Series Vol. 6 (Bob Dylan Live 1964, Concert at Philharmonic Hall, 2004) 에서도 존 바에즈와 같이 부르는 이곡을 들어볼 수 있구요....
Another Side of Bob Dylan(1964) 앨범에 실렸던 It Ain't Me Babe는 비교적 조용한 어쿠스틱 버전이었습니다. 1974년 더 밴드와 같이 공연한 Before The Flood(1974)에도 실려 있는데, 비트가 더해진 Rock 버전으로 진화했고, Bootleg Series Vol 5 (Bob Dylan Live, The Rolling Thunder Revue, 2002)에 실렸던 곡은 더욱 비트가 강합니다. 1975년 Harvard Square Theater, Cambridge, MA에서 녹음된 것이구요...
1984년 유럽투어공연을 담은 Real Live(1984)라는 앨범에 실려있는 곡도 좋습니다. 다시 어쿠스틱으로 돌아갔는데, 초기의 곡과는 분위기가 좀 다릅니다.1990년대에 들어 밥 딜런은 이노래를 다시 8-9분정도 길이의 어쿠스틱 버전으로 상당히 길게 불렀습니다. 94 우드스탁에서도 역시 그렇습니다. 어떤 사람들은 Renalo And Clara의 It Ain't Me Babe가 최고의 버전이라고 하기도 하더군요. 1992년의 30주년 기념 공연에서는 Johnny Cash와 June Carter Cash가 같이 부르기도 했습니다.

Woodstock 94 공연은 1994년 8월 12,13,14 에걸쳐서 Saugerties, New York(뉴욕시에서 북쪽으로 약 100 마일정도 떨어지진 곳)에서 열렸었고 밥딜런외에도 The Band, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, Bob Weir 등 많은 아티스트들이 참여했었습니다.
밥딜런은 8월 14일 공연에서 다음 곡들을 불렀습니다.
