Slow Train Coming, Shot Of Love, Saved 라는 일련의 Gospel 앨범들을 발표한 후 다시 종교적 색채를 배제하고 1983년 발표한 앨범이 Infidels이었습니다. 딜런 최고의 앨범으로 꼽히지는 않지만 수작중 하나로 평가되는 앨범입니다. Mark Knopfler, Mick Taylor 등의 뮤지션들이 참여하기도 하였구요.
