이 곡은 딜런 명반중의 하나로 꼽히는 Bring It All Back Home (1965)에 실려 있습니다.

 

1965년 7월 25 Newport Folk Festival에서 처음 연주되었고 그 공연이 딜런의 첫 Electric 공연이었던 것으로 유명하지요. Maggie's Farm, Like A Rolling stone, It Takes A Lot To Laugh 세곡을 Electric으로 연주하고 It's All Over Now Baby Blue, Mr Tambourine Man 두곡을 Acoustic으로 연주했습니다.

 

이 곡은 딜런이 "Protest Folk로 부터의 독립"을 선언하는 곡으로 여겨지고 있습니다. Maggie's Farm은 1963년 민권운동 공연을 하였던 Magee's Farm을 빗대어 나타낸 표현이랍니다.
