Iko Iko (또는 Aiko Aiko) 이곡은 1977년부터 Grateful Dead의 공연에서 불리워졌던 곡입니다. 원랜 1954 James Crawford 라는 사람이 만들어서 Jock-A-Mo란 제목으로 불렀다고 하네요. 이후 Grateful Dead를 포함한 많은 아티스트들에 의하여 불리워졌고 또한 New Orleans의 카니발인 "Mardi Gras" 에서 흔히 들을 수 있다고 합니다.
Iko Iko 란 말은 Gambia 언어의 "Ago"에서 유래가 되었고 Listen 또는 Attention 이란 뜻을 가지고 있답니다.
공연의 Opening곡으로 아주 잘 어울리는 흥겨운 노래입니다. 1980년대 말 Grateful Dead의 공연에서 주로 Opening곡으로 등장을 했고요.... Brent Mydland의 키보드연주가 돋보입니다.

Grateful Dead의 Studio Album에서는 이노래를 찾을 수 없고 여러 라이브 앨범에 실려있습니다. 2004년 발매되었던 Reckoning의 remastered version에는 어쿠스틱 라이브버전의 Iko Iko를 들어볼 수 있습니다. 그런데, 2004년 발매되었던 Jerry Garcia의 All Good Things (2004) Boxset에 Iko Iko의 studio outtakes가 실렸습니다.
